Founding Twin Neal Gottlieb decided to launch his own business instead of going to school for an MBA. At the time, Neal was sharing an apartment with his twin brother Carl, and Carl’s fiancée. They had already dubbed the trio’s home “Three Twins,” and when it came time to name his new company, Neal couldn’t think of a better name. Three Twins Ice Cream was born.
In 2005, Neal opened his first scoop shop in San Rafael, making ice cream in the morning, running the shop during the day, and cleaning up in the evening. Neal launched the wholesale side of the business in 2006, and the same year received organic certification and joined 1% for the planet.
Today, Three Twins Ice Cream operates four scoop shops and two ice cream factories (one in Petaluma, California). While the company has grown, its mission to produce inconceivably delicious organic ice cream from a simple base of milk, cream, sugar and eggs (no artificial colors, flavors or stabilizers) hasn’t changed. We’re thrilled to use Three Twins Ice Cream in our hand-spun shakes.
